Transparent Pricing

Drink driving offence, guilty plea – fixed fee £600.00 (including VAT charged at 20%) only in West Midlands, outside of West Midlands £1,200.00 (including VAT charged at 20%)
  1. Fee includes:
    • 2 hours attendance/preparation:
      • considering evidence
      • taking your instructions
      • providing advice on likely sentence
    • Attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court
  2. The fee does not include:
    1. instruction of any expert witnesses
    2. taking statements from any witnesses
    3. advice and assistance in relation to a special reasons hearing
    4. advice or assistance in relation to any appeal
  3. Disbursements: Our fixed fees for legal representation at Court do not include third party disbursements, which may be required in certain cases. Disbursements are expenses that we incur on your behalf that must be paid to third parties and examples include: expert reports, whether that be a forensic scientist, collision investigator, psychologist or psychiatrist (approximately £108.00 including VAT at 20% per hour – £648.00 including VAT at 20% per hour); expert attendance at court (approximately £108.00 including VAT at 20% per hour – £648.00 including VAT at 20% per hour); barrister’s costs (advice or attendance at Court £108.00 including VAT at 20% per hour- £648.00 including VAT at 20% per hour). Where we anticipate that any disbursements or additional fees may be payable, we will let you know as soon as possible.

  3. Providing advice on the plea and likely sentence.
  4. Drafting witness statements and instructions to experts (where required).
  5. Explaining the court procedure and what to expect at court.
  6. Conducting any further preparatory work required.
  7. Discussing appeal options after the hearing (if applicable).

Services Excluded

We do not submit appeal notices or apply to suspend your disqualification or revocation on your behalf. These services would incur an additional fee.

Key stages of the matter

The key stages of your matter are based on the presumption that you have entered a guilty plea and have a date for your hearing.
  1. Meet with your solicitor to provide instructions on what happened.
  2. We will consider initial disclosure, and any other evidence and provide advice.
  3. Arranging to take any witness statements if necessary
  4. We will explain the court procedure to you, so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court.
  5. We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow up queries you have.
  6. We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going before the court. We anticipate being at court for [e.g. half a day].
  7. We will discuss the outcome with you. If advice is required on appeal, this will carry an additional cost.
